The Nike Dunk High originally released in 1985 as a basketball shoe created by Peter C. Moore, the same designer as the Air Jordan 1. As time went on and Nike grew rapidly, releasing new silhouettes, the Dunk became outdated. It wasn’t until the late 90’s / early 2000’s when Nike started to release the Dunk again while also creating a new low-top model for skaters called the Dunk SB. This new Dunk, also retained a certain aesthetic appeal, combining a skating shoe with a regular lifestyle sneaker. Fast forward to now, the Dunk has regained its status after falling off and is arguably now one of the most popular sneakers.
